Can I edit my order once it's placed?
Due to the processing times of orders with our fulfillment partners, we can not guarantee an order can be edited once placed. Email support@thefunctionist and we'll do out best to edit your order.
When will I receive my order?
We offer standard (4-10 business days), expedited (2-8 days), and priority (1-3 days) shipping via USPS. All orders placed via our website are fulfilled by a third party provider. After your order is placed, it will be marked fulfilled when it’s ready to be shipped and picked up by USPS. If you have questions about the status of your order, please reach out to us at support@thefunctionist.com. Orders placed on Friday may not ship until the following Monday morning. We observe all federal holidays.
What are the shipping fees?
Shipping fees are determined by our third party logistics provider and depend on your location and the form of delivery.
How can I receive order updates?
We send a confirmation email with tracking information when your order ships, so you can follow delivery right to your doorstep. Please keep in mind tracking can take 24 - 48 hours to update.
A note on shipping times--If your USPS tracking shows ‘label created, not yet in the system’—this doesn’t mean the packaging is not on its way. Once fulfilled, your package may go several days without a scan from USPS, which is normal. Our carriers are moving at a very fast pace (particularly during high volume times), so please know that your order is likely moving towards you as fast as they are able to send it. This means sometimes scans are skipped in an effort to speed things up, so don't panic if you see this status.
Do you ship outside of the USA?
Regrettably, we’re only able to sell to customers within the US at the moment. In the near future, we hope to offer our functional foods internationally and we’ll keep our community updated when we can cross borders. How can I return or exchange a damaged item?
We're sorry our product did not meet your expectation. Some factors like shipping and handling are outside of our control and issues like this can happen. Please reach out to support@thefunctionist.com with a photo of the damaged item and your shipping address and we’ll send you a replacement for your order for free.
I didn't like the product.. Can I get a refund?
We love our products and hope you do too. We believe in the value and benefits of our products and take full responsibility for your satisfaction. If you don’t absolutely love your order for any reason, we’ll give you a full refund* for each item. Let us know within 30 days of receiving your order by sending us a note at support@thefunctionist.com with your order number and how we can improve.

How often should I add Mushroom Powder to my drinks?
They are intended to be taken daily for the best effect, but they are good for whenever you need to boost your immunity or help yourself perk up!
How quickly will I notice the product working?
Some people notice the product working immediately due to the cognitive and mood-boosting benefits of the mushrooms*. Everyone’s body and gut microbiome are different and some people may not notice the benefits for a few weeks. Our ingredients are clinically proven to show results within a few hours of consumption.

What is a postbiotic?
A postbiotic is a whole food fermentate made using yeast that goes through a fermentation and drying processes that makes a unique fingerprint of metabolites including proteins, polyphenols, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, polysaccharides, fiber, and other nutrients. When taken daily, our postbiotic helps to support your immune system and modulate the gut microbiota.
Are your products safe for pets?
Yes! In fact, one our first reviews came from a monthly subscriber that gives it to his boxer everyday! Our products are entirely non-toxic, so whatever the stomach can’t absorb just passes through the body. Consult with your veterinarian for dosage recommendations and to make sure a mushroom supplement is right for your animal.
Are your products organic?
Almost. All of our mushrooms are Certified USDA Organic and most of our other ingredients are as well. EpiCore is not organic, and since it makes up over 50% of Immunity Blend, the Immunity Blend is not labeled Organic.
Are your products vegan and vegetarian?
All of our products are good to go for vegans and vegetarians alike.
Where are your products made?
We have worked tirelessly to source the best of the best ingredients for all of our products. All of our mushrooms are grown, dehydrated, and powderized in the United States. Our Immunity Blend includes fucoidan (a type of seaweed) that’s grown off of the coast of Australia and then dehydrated, powderized, and shipped to us. All of our products are proudly blended and packed just a few hours from our headquarters in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Can I take multiple products safely?
Yes. Each mushroom blend type has unique nutritional benefits and there can be added benefits in combining more than one type. Blending different mushroom powders together is like joining forces with a whole team of super-heroes.
How do I store my products?
Store your products in a cool, dry place after each use to prevent moisture from getting into the product.
Where can I find the nutrition facts?
On the shop page, you can click on the image of the product packaging to view other images of it, including facts about our products.
Do you have samples?
Sadly not yet.. But soon!
Where are your mushrooms from?
Our mushrooms come from a state of the art farm in California. They're grown completely in doors at a facility that only grows and processes mushrooms and meet the highest quality and safety standards.
What about the seeaweed, wheres's that from?
Our seaweed is grown off of Australia’s southern coast and then dehydrated, powderized, and shipped to us.
I have allergies. Can you guarantee that your products are allergen-free?
Our products contain no allergens themselves, but they are packaged in a facility that has other allergens present like nuts. They follow scrupulous manufacturing practices to ensure products remain uncontaminated, but there’s unfortunately still a non-zero chance of allergen contamination.
Can I take your products with my other medications?
We always recommend consulting your health care provider if you have questions regarding adding a supplement to your diet. Our supplements are all whole-foods based, but it's a good idea to consult with your doctor if you have any questions about adding mushrooms to your diet.
Can I sell The Functionist products at my store or on my website?
